This wine comes from an AMAZING little vineyard that is 1800 ft. from the Pacific Ocean just south of Santa Cruz. The child of vigneron Rob Marani, what makes this vineyard so special is it’s ridiculous proximity to the ocean. One of the aspects that makes great Pinot Noir is a consistent temperature throughout the growing season and when you are that close to a huge mediator like the Pacific Ocean for example, your temperature is going to be as consistent as it can be.
The wine turned out great. It has a nice mouth feel and good body to it, but still delicate and very velvety. It has that classic red berry Pinot character yet a nice spicy woodsiness that I absolutely love!
